Ironic as it sounds… Your workouts might have caused more damage than good. The no pain no gain belief does not simply apply all the time! There's a small glute muscle called piriformis muscle that can either be shortened and tight or lengthened and weak which causes compression of the nerve in your butt. Here's a photo that explains things... Too little and too much mobility causes compression to the nerve which leads to pain when doing simple activities like sitting, running, climbing stairs, driving for long hours, or even after a workout session. Pretty sure you have not paid much attention to your glutes, given that they're behind you and only notice it once they start to hurt. Or… you pay too much attention while working out until it hurts.
