Trump had previously announced his intention to revoke security clearances for former President Joe Biden and several officials from the prior administration. The recent memo formalized that decision.
Aside from Harris and Clinton, Trump also revoked security clearances for former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former national security adviser Jake Sullivan, and Biden's entire family. The list also includes former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, all of whom have been involved in legal cases against Trump.
Trump also revoked security clearances for former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney and former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger—both are Republicans and were part of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, breach. (More) | What We Know About the F-47, America's Sixth-Generation Aircraft President Donald Trump has announced that Boeing will build the United States Air Force's sixth-generation fighter jet. Air Force leaders will now move to produce fleets of the new aircraft, officially designated the F-47.
An F-47 prototype has been secretly flying for the past five years, Trump said, adding that the new aircraft would be the world's most advanced. "We're confident that it massively overpowers the capabilities of any other nation," Trump said. "There's never been anything even close to it from speed to maneuverability to what it can have [for] payload."
The F-47 will begin production runs shortly. The military has already built many of the required facilities to manufacture the system in the coming years. Most of the project is still shrouded in secrecy due to fears that foreign adversaries—including communist China—will attempt to steal valuable information about the new technology. Here are the key takeaways from the F-47 announcement. | Israel Launches Strikes Across Lebanon After Intercepting Rocket Attack Israeli forces launched a wave of strikes across parts of Lebanon in response to rocket launches targeting the Galilee region on March 22.
The Israeli military reported its air forces intercepted a trio of rockets that had crossed over from Lebanon into Israeli airspace on Saturday. The Israeli military subsequently said its forces struck dozens of suspected rocket launchers and a command center it said were operated by terrorist group Hezbollah. Israeli aircraft and artillery had struck more than a dozen different communities across southern Lebanon, according to reports published by Lebanon's official National News Agency.
Hezbollah began firing rockets at Israeli-controlled areas on Oct. 8, 2023, just hours after Hamas launched extensive attacks on Israel's south. Israeli forces returned fire across the Israel–Lebanon border for nearly a year, before sending ground forces into Lebanon in October of last year. The Israeli government agreed to enter into a cease-fire in November last year, under which its forces would halt strikes on Lebanon and withdraw its ground forces from the country within 60 days. In turn, the Lebanese government agreed to rein in Hezbollah and establish control over its southern border region. (More) How did you enjoy today's Morning Brief?
