With everything from high-profile speeches to polarizing protests on the menu, business owners and locals expressed a mixture of fear, excitement, and hope for peace during the long, warm week ahead. "I just want everything to be smooth. If they're going to protest, I want them to be peaceful," said Gail Doherty, the manager of the Billy Goat Tavern, which lies just up the street from both the United Center, the stadium where many notable Democrats will speak, and Union Park, where large-scale demonstrations will occur. Recent research highlights a promising dietary approach to combating age-related muscle decline. A 2024 study published in Clinical Nutrition involving over 5,000 participants revealed a strong correlation between higher dietary intake of fermented foods containing live microbes (such as yogurt and kimchi) and a reduced risk of sarcopenia. Sarcopenia refers to the age-related loss of strength and muscle mass. This association held even after adjusting for various confounding factors, including physical activity and age. Read the full story here› | X to End Operations in Brazil Social media giant X will end operations in Brazil, although its service will remain available to users in the country. The decision comes in response to actions by Brazil's Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Earlier this year, Moraes ordered X to block certain accounts, as he investigates so-called digital militias accused of spreading fake news and hate messages during the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro. X owner Elon Musk was named in the criminal inquiry into individuals who allegedly spread false information about Brazil's election and justice system.
