The "rule" that you shouldn't eat after 8 pm if you want to burn fat is...
Completely NOT true.
I eat right before bed all the time :)
However, you want to eat the right foods, so your body will burn fat while you're sleeping.
Here are three awesome bedtime snacks that won't ruin your waistline.
1. Popcorn
Would I like people to just eat lean proteins or veggies before bed?
Yes.
But that's not always realistic :)
Now, I'm not talking about the popcorn you get at the movies...
Or the popcorn bags that you microwave.
Most of those are filled with extra calories, oils, and other crap.
I'm talking about using a popcorn maker...
Pouring in the popcorn kernels...
And watching them POP right before your eyes.
5 cups of popped popcorn is a whopping 110 calories and it's packed with fiber.
You can even sprinkle some salt on there or other low calorie seasonings.
2. Frozen fruit
You can put some in a blender, add in a little unsweetened almond milk, and make ice cream.
Or, you can just eat the frozen fruit right out of the bag…
Some great options are frozen strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapple or papaya.
Each serving is around 45-60 calories...
And it's more of a sweet treat that feels like dessert.
3. Chocolate yogurt bowl
Here's the recipe, but you can take some of the ingredients out if you don't like them.
Add some plain Greek yogurt to a bowl...
Mix in 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, one tbsp. cocoa powder...
Then add in 5 grams of Lily's chocolate chips.
Mix it up and enjoy!
You can also add some low-calorie chocolate syrup on top if you want (I use Walden Farms, and no, I'm not afraid of artificial sweeteners :)
You can even throw the yogurt bowl in the freezer for 5-10 minutes to make it EXTRA thick.
Anyways, those are three bedtime snacks you can have every single night to burn. more fat and satisfy your cravings.
