This is going to sound weird. These two statements sound like they contradict one another, but... they really don't:
Confused? Let me explain. A recent study showed that 70% of men (with perfectly healthy hearts) who did intense exercise without any warm-up, displayed ECG readings during their workout that showed lower-than-normal blood supply to their hearts. (Yikes!) So, doing certain types of exercise without warming up first, can put you at risk. But... What most people do to warm up before a workout actually relaxes your muscles and decreases your power and energy... which decreases your performance during your workout, and the gains and benefits you get from it, AND increases the chances of you getting injured during your workout... because your muscles and joints just aren't ready! So, doing "traditional," or incorrect warm-ups before exercise, ALSO puts you at risk. So... You should warm-up before you exercise. But, you need to warm up the right way. "PRIMING" is the most effective method I've ever seen in 24 years in the fitness industry, for warming up and protecting yourself from exercise and weight lifting injuries... ...and when you do "PRIMING," you can also increase the results, gains, and growth you get in many of your workouts! Check out this article - it's all about "PRIMING".
