Hey there!
It's Sue here again, and I wanted to introduce myself since you'll be hearing from me more frequently. We certainly won't be strangers for long!
My mother was a force - until one day, she wasn't. Witnessing the woman I knew my entire life start to disappear was the hardest thing I've ever gone through. She suffered some falls, and eventually lost nearly all of her mobility. "It's a part of getting older," they say. I'm not a 'spring chicken' anymore - but why should that mean I need to become weak, frail, and lose my independence?
I decided that I'd do everything in my power to prevent any of that from happening to me. I began asking all of my mother's doctors what she could have done differently so I wouldn't experience the same issues. Initially it was small, simple things - like taking care of my hip flexors, and taking certain vitamins. Then, I began doing a lot more research on my own to really get into the causes of issues and look for options to both prevent AND relieve them if necessary.
I started this venture to share what I've been learning with others who might be in my same boat - or even my mother's. I don't know about you, but I can't think of any worse fate than becoming a shell of who I once was because I did nothing to stop it.
I'm hoping to send you tips, articles, and other things that I think will be helpful to you. I will deliver the best things I find to your inbox, as well as the blog posts I write. I know not everyone can stay on top of the latest information, so I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to keep people informed. Now I'd be remiss if I didn't encourage you to do your own research as well… and I'll never be offended if you don't agree with me! I'm open to questions (or debate!)
Don't be afraid to reach out if you have a question, (you can always reply directly to my emails) and I'll make sure you get an answer. I want to make sure everything is as easy-to-understand as possible because I know how tricky it can be keeping things straight!
I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Until then,
Sue
