Have you seen these big silly bouncy balls? Scientific research has proven they can significantly increase the results you get from most exercises you do. And these balls are perfect for women and men between the ages of 45 and 75. They're called stability balls (or Swiss balls, or exercise balls). You've probably seen them before. But, here's the thing: They're usually overlooked and I think they're the most underrated and underutilized piece of exercise equipment. But don't believe me. The research has proved it. This is a quote from a 2007 study entitled Electromyographic Comparison Of A Stability Ball Crunch With A Traditional Crunch that was published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research: "Cosio-Lima and others found significantly greater mean EMG activity [muscle activation] using a stability ball, compared with a stable floor surface..." - - - - - Know what else? When you use a stability ball, you turn almost every exercise into a whole-body exercise, which can help you burn more calories in less time than other exercises. Whole-body exercises utilize more of your muscles, all throughout your body, in every exercise you do. So, instead of doing a regular bicep curl sitting on an exercise bench, which targets just a few muscles in your arm, doing that same exercise on a stability ball will now also engage muscles in your core, back, hips, and shoulders, because now, you must balance yourself on the ball while you're doing the exercise. So with each exercise, you're now using more muscles, and this can literally multiply your results when you exercise and help you burn more calories in less time! - - - - - Know what else? Stability ball exercises have been proven to provide a lot of different and valuable benefits. This quote comes from a 2012 study entitled Effect of 12-Week Swiss Ball Exercise Program on Physical Fitness and Balance Ability of Elderly Women: "...Swiss ball exercise requires more sense of balance and its positive effects are reinforcement of muscle strength and endurance, increase of flexibility, increase of joint stability and coordination, and enhancement of proprioception [balance]." - - - - - And... did I mention stability ball exercises are perfect for women and men between the ages of 45 and 75? It's because they're:
Read more here - you can learn more about stability ball exercises and there's even a 12-minute program designed specifically for the stability ball, and specifically for women and men between the ages of 45 and 75!
